    Is anything uploaded?

    No. Images are read and combined in your browser.

    Do photos keep their orientation?

    JPG, WebP and GIF files are redrawn by your browser, which applies the orientation stored in the photo. Images over about 16 megapixels are embedded as supplied, so a phone photo may then appear rotated.

    What happens to transparency?

    PNG transparency is kept. WebP and GIF images are converted to JPEG, so transparent areas become white.

    How large can files be?

    Up to 50 MB per image.
