Two sites, one hosting service

Traxio.co.uk is general web hosting: WordPress, blogs, small business sites, portfolios, PHP projects. Traxio.uk is the same hosting account described for a specific job — running an online community on MyBB, phpBB or SMF.

Nothing about the underlying service differs. The same DirectAdmin control panel, the same NVMe servers, the same Softaculous installer, the same knowledgebase, the same Help Desk, the same client area, the same one plan at £0.99 a month after a 30-day free period. Order from either site and you end up in the same place.

What differs is the writing. Somebody launching a forum needs to know about spam registrations, notification email deliverability, whether their theme will still work after an upgrade, and how much bandwidth a few hundred members actually use. Those answers do not belong on a page about hosting a shop, so they live here.

What Traxio is

A small UK hosting operation with one plan and no sales team. It is deliberately unambitious in scope: shared hosting done properly at a price that does not pretend, with documentation instead of a call centre. There are no tiers to be upsold to, because there is only one plan.

The pricing page and the features page set out exactly what that plan includes and where it stops being enough, and the FAQ answers the awkward questions in one place.

That shapes what Traxio is good at. If you want a well-run, cheap, honest place to put a forum and you are willing to click through a control panel, it fits. If you want managed hosting where somebody else maintains your forum software, patches your mods and answers questions about your theme, it does not, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.

The honesty rules

The same ones traxio.co.uk is built on, and they are the reason some of these pages read less enthusiastically than a hosting site usually does:

• Nothing is described as unlimited, because nothing is.
• No uptime is guaranteed on a 99p plan. Status is public.
• No invented statistics, no fake customer counts, no stock-photo testimonials.
• Free means free: no card details, so nothing can be charged automatically.
• Limits are published on the pricing page rather than hidden in a fair-use clause.
• Where Traxio is the wrong tool, the pages say so.

Who runs it

Traxio is run by one person, Jason Plant, as a UK sole trader (not a limited company, and not VAT registered, so £0.99 is the whole price). That is also why the support scope is drawn tightly around hosting rather than website development. Servers are in Montreal, Canada. Billing, tickets and account management all happen in the Traxio client area.
